Quarantine Catch Up
COVID-19 has nearly everybody on Earth quarantined in their homes which obviously isn't ideal, but it is necessary to flatten the curve. This has left me with tons of time to spin records that I haven't listened to in a long time and it really has been a nice reset that I have used to catch up on a lot of classics and new releases too.
Lately I've been obsessed with The Weeknd's new release "After Hours" and Knxwledge's new tape "1988". The Weeknd created a new sound for himself on After Hours with his new retro alter ego. He created a retro sound as well, throwing it back to '80s synth-pop alongside some of the catchiest hooks he has ever written. Knxwledge on the other hand did what he does best on 1988, creating a near perfect instrumental release that I have listened to probably 15 times today (yes, it's that good). I have also been exploring the works of Circles Around the Sun who just released a self titled album that is absolutely gorgeous. The psych-funk band created a polished album filled with funky grooves and spacey riffs that just make life feel better.

Now, I know if any of you are like I am, you can't go very long without buying a new record and this quarantine is throwing a giant wrench in your plans to dig crates all day. I know the feeling and if you're having trouble coping with how to get your fix, I'm here to help.
Many record stores are offering online orders and orders by phone. Here in Kansas City the two shops I frequent are offering online orders and call-in orders. They also opened up their Ebay sites and their Discogs pages to make buying easier! Many shops are doing this right now and it might not be a bad idea to just call in to see if they have what you are looking for! Small business like record stores really need your help during times like this and heck, you have nothing better to do so hop on Discogs or call your local shop to buy some new wax that you've been itching for!
Here are the links to my local stores as they ship nationwide!
